Our Solar Story
Northland began producing solar power in 2013 as one of our early renewable technologies driving growth for our business alongside onshore wind and natural gas. In Canada, we own and operate 13 ground-mount solar projects that generate approximately 200 GWh of clean energy annually. Internationally, our portfolio of photovoltaic and concentrated solar facilities has a total installed capacity of over 100 MW. Together, we operate close to 1 million solar panels in two countries and have a sizable portfolio of early-stage solar projects in our development pipeline.
Our solar assets convert sunlight into electricity using technologies like photovoltaic (PV) panels or concentrated solar (CS) systems. Solar is a versatile renewable energy source, deployable from rooftops to large-scale solar farms.
